Tamira Paszek started the 2007 season as one of the biggest talents in the world’s tennis, playing simultaneously in the senior and junior tours. She reached the second round of the Australian Open and the third round of the Junior Australian Open. She played in the main scheme of the WTA 500 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships and WTA 1000 Miami Open, reaching the second rounds, but also reached the second round of the French Open / Roland Garros, WTA 1000 Rome Open, the third round of the WTA 250 Rothesay Classic Birmingham, as well as the Round of 16 of the Wimbledon and the US Open. In 2008, Tamira Paszek continued with her strong performance and started the season by reaching the semi-finals of the WTA 250 ASB Classic in Auckland. She played in the second rounds of the WTA 1000 Indian Wells Open and WTA 1000 Miami Open, but failed to overcome the first rounds of the Grand Slam’s Australian Open, Wimbledon, and French Open / Roland Garros. However, at the WTA 1000 Canadian Open (Rogers Cup) she reached the quarter-finals, eliminating the Top 5 player Ana Ivanovic (Serbia) and losing to the rising star Victoria Azarenka (Belarus). At the US Open Tamira Paszek reached the second round, but played her second WTA final at the WTA 250 Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions in Bali, losing to Patty Schnyder (Switzerland). Thus, she fell out of the world’s Top 50, finishing the season as WTA No 70.

In 2009, Tamira Paszek failed to overcome the first rounds of the Australian Open, WTA 250 PTT Pattaya Open, and WTA 1000 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. Tamira Paszek started the 2010 season by reaching the second round in WTA 250 Hobart International but lost in the first rounds of the Australian Open, WTA 500 Open Gaz de France Suez, and WTA 1000 Indian Wells Open. After poor performance at the WTA 250 Barcelona Ladies Open and WTA 1000 Miami Open, she returned to play in the ITF Circuit to gain some confidence and improve her play, winning the title at the $25,000 Izmir (Turkey). During the summer she returned to the WTA Tour to reach the second round of the WTA 250 Banka Koper Slovenia Open and the US Open, before winning her second WTA title at the WTA 250 Coupe Banque Nationale presentee par Mazda in Quebec City, Canada. After the title, she returned back to the world’s Top 100, ending the season as WTA No 89.

Tamira Paszek started the 2011 season poorly, losing in the first round of the WTA 250 ASB Classic in Auckland and the second round of the WTA 250 Hobart International. She was not able to overcome the first rounds of the Australian Open, WTA 250 PTT Pattaya Open, WTA 1000 Indian Wells Open, WTA 500 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, WTA 250 Estoril Open, WTA 1000 Rome Open, and the French Open / Roland Garros, which was to make her season a real disaster. She returned to the ITF Circuit again to reach the quarter-finals of the $75,000+H Nottingham (UK) before again playing in the WTA Tour to reach the third round of the WTA 250 Rothesay Classic Birmingham. However, in June, Tamira Paszek made her biggest breakthrough at the Grand Slam, reaching the quarter-finals of Wimbledon and again her impetus being stopped by Victoria Azarenka (Belarus), who was already a Top 5 player. Tamira Paszek gained impetus and in July reached the semi-finals at the WTA 250 Mubadala Citi DC Open, while in August played in the third round of the WTA 500 Southern California Open. At the US Open, she lost in the first round but continued the season by reaching the semi-finals of the WTA 250 Coupe Banque Nationale presentee par Mazda in Quebec City, Canada, and the third round of the WTA 1000 China Open. Thus, during the season she reached again her highest ranking of WTA No 35 and ended the season as the world’s No 42.

Tamira Paszek again started badly in the 2012 season, as hard and clay courts were not her strong surfaces. However, on the grass, she repeated her strong performance, winning her third WTA title at the WTA 500 Rothesay International Eastbourne, defeating in the final the Top 5 player Angelique Kerber, and again reaching the quarter-finals of Wimbledon, losing to her nightmare Victoria Azarenka (Belarus), who was already world’s No 1. Tamira Paszek continues the second half of the season by reaching the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 Canadian Open (Rogers Cup) and the WTA 250 Hana Bank Korea Open. She ended the season as the world’s No 30.

In 2013, Tamira Paszek climbed to her career-high singles ranking of world No 26 on February 11 but did not record any strong results on the WTA Tour during the season, overcoming the first round only at the Australian Open and WTA 500 Bank of the West Classic. At the end of the season, she returned to the ITF Circuit and finished as the runner-up at the $50,000 Limoges (France). Thus, after the terrible season, she dropped out of the world’s Top 100.
