American tennis babe Cori Coco Gauff

Cori Coco Gauff is an American professional tennis player. She has won six WTA Tour singles titles, including the Grand Slam’s title at the 2023 US Open. Cori Coco Gauff has career-high rankings of world No 3 by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).

Cori Dionne “Coco” Gauff was born on March 13, 2004, in Delray Beach, Florida, United States. She started playing tennis at the age of six and worked with Gerard Loglo at the New Generation Tennis Academy starting from the age of eight. At the age of 10, Gauff began to train at the Mouratoglou Academy in France run by Patrick Mouratoglou. Cori Coco Gauff reached the semi-finals at the Junior Orange Bowl in 2014 and 2015, but also was the runner-up at the Eddie Herr International Junior Tennis Championships and won the title at the USTA National Selection Tournament and National Clay Court Championships in 2014. In 2016, Coco Gauff finally won the Junior Orange Bowl, which is considered the junior tennis world cup. In 2017, she reached the finals of the Junior US Open, while in 2018 won the Junior French Open / Roland Garros and the J500 Plantation \ Orange Bowl Int’l Tennis Championships.

Cori Coco Gauff made her professional debut in 2018, playing at the $25,000 W25 Osprey, FL and $25,000 Baton Rouge, LA, reaching the second rounds in both tournaments.

Already in the beginning of the 2019 season, she played her first ITF final at the $25,000 W25 Surprise, AZ, but lost the final to Sesil Karatantcheva (Bulgaria). Later she debuted in the Challenger Tour, playing at the WTA 125 Oracle Challenger Series in Indian Wells, but lost in the opening round. In March 2019, Cori Coco Gauff played in the main scheme of the WTA 1000 Miami Open and reached the second round and after showing great play, she was noted by most of the specialists. During the summer, she reached the fourth round of the Wimbledon and the third round of the US Open, before winning her first WTA title at the WTA 250 Upper Austria Ladies Linz. She entered the Top 100 and finished the season as the world’s No 68.

After gaining power, Cori Coco Gauff started the 2020 season strongly by reaching the 4th round of the Australian Open, but the season was seriously disturbed by the coronavirus pandemic and she returned on the court again only in August, reaching the semi-finals of the WTA 250 The Top Seed Open presented by Bluegrass Orthopaedics. By the end of the season, although playing in all the top-rated tournaments, she did not achieve some good results. However, she ended the season as the world’s No 48.

Cori Coco Gauff started slowly the 2021 season, reaching the second round of the WTA 500 Abu Dhabi WTA Women’s Tennis Open, WTA 500 Gippsland Trophy, and Australian Open. But in February and March, she gained speed and reached the semi-finals of the WTA 500 Adelaide International and the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. She continues the Spring season by the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 Credit One Charleston Open and the semi-finals of the WTA 1000 Rome Open, before winning her second title at the WTA 250 Emilia-Romagna Open. At the French Open / Roland Garros Cori Coco Gauff reached the quarter-finals, while at Wimbledon reached the fourth round. She continued playing at a high level and reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 Canadian Open. Thus, she continued climbing in the world’s tennis ranking and ended the season as WTA No 22.

In 2022, Cori Coco Gauff started the season by reaching the semi-finals of the WTA 250 Adelaide International 2, but had a terrible performance at the Australian Open and WTA 500 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, losing in the first rounds. However, she reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 Qatar TotalEnergies Open. In the next Masters tournaments in Indian Wells, Miami, Rome, and Madrid, unfortunately, she reached maximum the third round, but at the French Open / Roland Garros played her first Grand Slam final, losing to Iga Swiatek (Poland). She continues being one of the top players by the end of the season, reaching the quarter-finals of the US Open and WTA 1000 Canadian Open. After finishing the season and world’s No 7, she played at the WTA Finals Fort Worth, where she lost all her three matches from the group.

Cori Coco Gauff improved her performance in 2023 and made her best season so far. She started by winning the title at the WTA 250 ASB Classic in Auckland and reached the 4th round of the Australian Open, the semi-finals of the WTA 1000 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, and the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 Indian Wells Open. During the Summer, she reached the semi-finals of the French Open / Roland Garros, before triumphing at the WTA 500 Mubadala Citi DC Open, WTA 1000 Western & Southern Open, and the US Open. She finished the season as the world’s No 3 and played at the WTA Finals Cancun, reaching the semi-finals.
