Chelsea Women smashed Paris FC by 4-1 in a match of the UEFA Women’s Champions League

Chelsea Women smashed Paris FC by 4-1 at their Stamford Bridge stadium in the second round of the group’s stage of the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Samantha Kerr scored a hat-trick for the hosts and was awarded the player of the match, being the most effective on the ground.

Chelsea Women started the match strongly with an attacking and aggressive style of play. Samantha Kerr gave a lead for the hosts in the 30th minute after a great long pass by Lauren James and from the small penalty scored. Chelsea Women, however, took a lead in the second half again by two wonderful goals of Samantha Kerr in the 48th and 55th minute. Thus, after leading by 3-1, the hosts calmed down the game and turned to counter-attacks. Sophie Ingle formed the final core 4-1 in the stoppage time.

In another match from Group D of the UEFA Women’s Champions League, Hacken Women overturned Real Madrid Femenino by 2-1. Signe Bruun gave a lead for the Spanish team in the 10th minute, which formed the score on the half-time. However, in the second half, Rasul Kafaji Rosa (59′) and Katariina Kosola (76′) brought the victory to Hacken Women, who are leaders in the standings with 6 points, followed by Chelsea Women with 4 points, Real Madrid Femenino with 1 point and Paris FC is last without a point.

In Group C, AS Roma Women smashed Ajax Women by 3-0 after two goals by Valentina Giacinti (5′ and 14′) and one by Manuela Giugliano (47′), while Paris Saint-Germain Feminine lost at home to Bayern Frauen by 0-1 after the goal of Magdalena Eriksson in the 21st minute. Leader in Group C is AS Roma Women with 4 points, followed by Bayern Frauen with the same asset, Ajax Women with 3 points, and Paris Saint-Germain Feminine without a single point.
