Ivet Goranova won the title at the Karate Grand Prix tournament in Bratislava

Bulgarian karateka Ivet Goranova won the title at the Karate Grand Prix tournament in Bratislava (Slovakia).

The Tokyo 2020 women’s kumite 55 kg Olympic champion achieved five victories in the category up to 61 kilograms “Kumite”, and in the final, she defeated Kseniia Kolomiitseva from Ukraine with 5:0.

Ivet Goranova is a Bulgarian karateka. She won the gold medal in the women’s 55 kg event at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics. She also won the gold medal in the women’s 55 kg event at the 2019 European Games held in Minsk, Belarus. Moreover, in 2018, she won one of the bronze medals in the women’s kumite 55 kg event at the World Karate Championships held in Madrid, Spain. An year later, Ivet Goranova won one of the bronze medals in the women’s kumite 55 kg event at the European Karate Championships held in Guadalajara, Spain.

The Bulgarian kartekas won a total of 11 medals from the competition, of which 4 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze.
