Slovak basketball babe Ivana Jakubcova

Ivana Jakubcova is a Slovak professional basketball player. She currently plays for the French basketball team Angers and for the Slovak national team.

Ivana Jakubcova was born on August 20, 1994, in Bratislava, Slovakia. She started playing basketball in the third grade at elementary school. She played for the local basketball club BK Petrzalka. She attended the University of Southern California to study psychology, where she played for the university team in Kentucky.

Jakubcova played two seasons at Murray State College and was ranked as the No 20 overall junior college player, named to the All-Conference Team. She was a two-time tournament MVP and posted a triple-double with 28 pts, 14 rebs, and 10 blocks.

Ivana Jakubcova did not compete in the 2014/2015 season at Kentucky due to injury, but in the 2015/2016 season, she appeared in 24 games, averaging 1.1 pts and 1.1 rebs per game, playing 7.7 minutes per game. She

Ivana Jakubcova enters her first season of competition at USC as a transfer from Kentucky in her final season of eligibility as a Trojan grad student.

Ivana Jakubcova made her professional debut in 2017 with the Piestanske Cajky team, where she played for two seasons. With the team she played at the EuroCup Women and EuroLeague Women, attending five and two games, respectively. In the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 seasons, she won one silver and one bronze medal in the Slovak Basketball League and two silver medals in the Slovak Cup.

In 2019, she transferred to the Italian Serie A1 Women’s team Basket Femminile Le Mura Lucca.

In 2021, Ivana Jakubcova signed with AZS UMCS Lublin to play in the Polish Energa Basket Liga Women. The team finished as a runner-up in the Polish League and reached the semi-finals of the Polish Cup. With the team she also played at the EuroCup Women, reaching the Round of 16.

Ivana Jakubcova signed with French basketball team Angers in 2022.

At the international level, Ivana Jakubcova played for the Slovak junior and senior national teams. As a senior, she debuted for the national team in a match against the Czech Republic on June 2, 2017. She narrowly missed out on the 2017 European Women’s Basketball Championship roster but played at the 2021 FIBA Women’s EuroBasket and 2023 FIBA Women’s EuroBasket.
