Turkish women’s volleyball team Fenerbahce Opet qualified for the semi-finals of the Champions League. The Zoran Terzic-led team lost to Imoco Volley Conegliano 2-3 (25:23, 25:15, 23:25, 20:25, 13:15) in the second quarter-final match between them of the competition, played at Palaverde sporting arena in Vilorba (Treviso) in front of 5,344 spectators.
In the first match, the Turkish giant beat the opponent by 3-0 and thus guaranteed a place in the final four.
Fenerbahce Opet players completed their job already in the first 2 games, which they won with 25:23 and 25:15, thus guaranteeing their participation in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
The 19-year-old Russian volleyball player Arina Fedorovtseva became a hero for Fenerbahce Opet, scoring 13 points (8 aces, 36% efficiency in attack, 13% perfect and 40% positive reception – +8) already in the first 2 games.
Immediately afterwards, Zoran Terzic rested most of his starting players and replaced them.
Only Hristina Vuchkova and Ana Cristina Menezes Oliveira De Souza played a whole match for the team from Istanbul.
The Brazilian Ana Cristina Menezes Oliveira was the highest scorer with 29 points (1 ace, 1 block, 60% efficiency so-so, 27% perfect and 40% positive reception – +23).
For Conegliano, Swedish volleyball star Isabelle Haak finished with 24 points (1 ace, 55% attack efficiency – +14).
Igor Gorgonzola Novara, VakıfBank (Istanbul), and Eczacibasi Dynavit (Istanbul) also qualified for the semi-finals.
