The Czech tennis players Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova won the Wimbledon doubles title after prevailing in the final over Belgium’s Elise Mertens and China’s Zhang Shuai with 2-0 (6:2, 6:4) in 1:06 hours of play.
This was the fifth Grand Slam title for the Czech double and second at Wimbledon.
In the first set, Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova showed enviable synchronicity, registering two breaks and winning easily with 6:2.
In the second set, the game was even and both teams made one break to reach 4:4. Then again the Czechs took the initiative and again registered a break to win by 6:4. Katerina Siniakova allowed one break of her serve in the match, while Barbora Krejcikova was flawless.
