Irem Nur Gunes is Turkish volleyball player, who plays as an Opposite for Karayollari Spor Kulubu at the Turkish Kadinlar Voleybol 1 Ligi. She is one of the big volleyball talents in the country.
Irem Nur Gunes was born on June 19, 2004. She started in volleyball as a kid in and showed her great talent at school. She is the sister of the Turkish volleyball superstar Zehra Gunes. She also has a younger sister Mina Gunes, who also plays volleyball.
Irem Nur Gunes started her professional volleyball career in 2019, playing for TVF Spor Lisesi in the Turkish Kadinlar Voleybol 2 Ligi.
The next season she moved to the Vakıfbank II volleyball team, to gain experience at the Turkish Kadinlar Voleybol 1 Ligi, finishing 11th in the final standings and she had an overage of 2.40 ppg. She continued playing for the second team of the Turkish champion Vakıfbank but did not gain enough games and has 2.80 ppg and 1.30 ppg in the next two seasons, while the team finished 11th and 18th in the final standings.
In 2023, Irem Nur Gunes signed with another club from the Turkish Kadinlar Voleybol 1 Ligi – Edremit Bld. Altınoluk, but again failed to find the titular place in the squad. She had 1.3 ppg and the team finished 18th in the league during the only season she played – 2023/2024.
Irem Nur Gunes signed with her current club Karayollari Spor Kulubu in 2024. We will wait to see if the young Turkish volleyball player finds the best place to show her talent and skills.
