The Brazilian volleyball clubs Dentil Praia Clube and Gerdau Minas, the Turkish giants VakifBank and Eczacibasi Dynavit, the Chinese club Tianjin Bohai Bank and the Vietnamese club Sport Center 1 will compete at the Women’s World Club Volleyball Championship, which will be held from December 13 to 17 in Hangzhou (China).

The Turkish clubs dominate the last editions of the tournament with VakifBank winning the titles in 2013/2014, 2017/2018, 2018/2019, and 2021/2022, while Eczacibasi triumphed in 2015/2016 and 2016/2017.

The reining champion of the women’s World Club Volleyball Championship is Prosecco Doc Imoco Volley Conegliano, while VakifBank and Eczacibasi Dynavit, remained with silver and bronze medals, respectively.

The tournament starts on December 13 with the group stage with Eczacibasi Dynavit, Tianjin Bohai Bank, and Gerdau Minas will be in Group A, while VakifBank, Sport Center 1, and Dentil Praia Clube will be group B. In the opening matches Tianjin Bohai Bank will face Gerdau Minas and VakifBank will play versus Sport Center 1.

Asian team has not reached a Top 3 in the tournament in the last 10 years, as the last achievement was by Chinese volleyball club Guangdong Evergrande, that earned the bronze in 2013/2014. In 2011/2012 season, the Azerbaijani volleyball club Rabita Baku won the title.

This season, the volleyball club Tianjin Bohai Bank will host the competition, while Sport Center 1 qualified as the Asian Club Champion.
