Grand Slam champion and top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus) was eliminated in the semifinals of the WTA 500 WTA 500 Mubadala Citi DC Open hard court tennis tournament in Washington (USA) with a prize money of 922,573 USD.
Aryna Sabalenka lost to Marie Bouzkova (Czech Republic) by 1-2 (4:6, 6:3, 3:6) in 2:12 hours.
A decisive third set offered five breaks, but Marie Bouzkova won the last four games in a row to triumph.
For the Czech tennis player, this is the first win against a tennis player from the top 10 of the season.
Paula Badosa (Spain) also qualified for the final after defeating Caroline Dolehide (USA) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:3) in 81 minutes.
