The fourth-seeded Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan) withdrew from the US Open tennis championship.
In a second round match in the draw, Elena Rybakina was scheduled to face Jessika Ponchet (France). The match was supposed to take place tomorrow, but the Kazakhstani tennis player will not take the court due to injury and the French qualifier continues ahead.
“Unfortunately, I have to withdraw due to injury. I didn’t want to end the last Grand Slam of the year this way, but I have to listen to my body and hope I can finish the rest of the year strong”, posted Elena Rybakina in a statement.
Elena Rybakina, 25, is ranked fourth in the Women’s Tennis Association. She has eight WTA titles and in 2022 she won Wimbledon.
