European champions and Nations League winners Italy made a great start to their participation at the Women’s Volleyball World Championship, which is being held in Poland and the Netherlands.
Italy beat Cameroon decisively by 3-0 (25:10, 25:12, 25:16) in a Group A match of the competition played in Arnhem (Netherlands). The match lasted less than an hour.
Paola Egonu scored 17 points (2 aces, 2 blocks) and Caterina Bosetti added 13 points (4 aces, 1 block).
For Cameroon, Berthrade Simone Flore Bikatal finished with 8 points (2 blocks).
The next match for Italy is against Puerto Rico – on September 26 (Monday), at 19:00.
