Coco Gauff with second most WTA 1000 wins for women under 21 in a single season

Coco Gauff Australian Open

The worlds number four Coco Gauff overtook the current world’s number one Iga Swiatek and trails only to the former world’s number one Caroline Wozniacki in terms of WTA 1000 wins in a single year for women under 21.

In 2024, Coco Gauff won 24 matches at the WTA 1000 tournaments, overtaking the current women’s world number one Iga Swiatek, who achieved 22 wins in a single year. In 2010, when Caroline Wozniacki was 20 years old, she recorded 27 wins within the calendar year.

American Coco Gauff overtook Iga Swiatek (Poland) after her 2-0 (6:4, 6:1) win over Marta Kostyuk (Ukraine) at the tournament in Wuhan, China, but after that she advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament after defeating Magda Linette (Poland) by 2-0 (6:0, 6:4).

Coco Gauff is one of the most talented young tennis players and definitely will continue writing her history in the tennis, as she is only 20 years old and already has eight WTA titles, including a Grand Slam title at the 2023 US Open.
