Three-time European indoor long jump champion and current world indoor champion Ivana Spanovic-Vuleta warmed up for the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade later this month with a home victory in the Serbian capital. The 31-year-old bronze Olympic medalist from Rio de Janeiro in 2016 achieved success with the stormy support of her compatriots with 6.88 m.
Serbia’s success in the discipline was twofold after Milica Gardasevic finished second with 6.69 m. Slovenian Neja Filipic was third with 6.60 m.
Ivana Spanovic-Vuleta is a Serbian long jumper, reigning World indoor champion, and three times European indoor champion. In 2013, she became the first Serbian track and field athlete to win a medal at the IAAF Outdoor World Championships.
