Norwegian biathlete Tiril Eckhoff has won the women’s 10km pursuit at the Biathlon World Cup in Kontiolahti, Finland.
The 31-year-old Tiril Eckhoff, a bronze medalist from Beijing 2022 Olympics, completed the track in 31:40.8 minutes and missed two targets in the four shots. For her, this is the first success for the Sprint World Cup since the race in Oestersund on March 21 last year and the 27th in her career.
Second place went to Italian Dorothea Wierer, who was only 17th in the sprint. She shot all 20 targets and was 15.9 seconds behind the winner.
Germany’s Denise Herrmann finished third with three lap laps and a 19.5-second deficit.
The leader in the general classification for the season Marte Olsbu Roeiseland (Norway) was fourth and already has a lead of 97 points over the second Elvira Oeberg from Sweden, who remained ninth with four missed targets.
Marte Olsbu Roeiseland has an asset of 728 points after 17 starts, ahead of Elvira Oeberg with 631 points and Dzinara Alimbekava (Belarus) with 589 points.
